Annual Conference

 

IAFFE’s Annual Conferences serve as the primary platform for sharing research, building connections, and fostering collaboration among scholars, practitioners, and activists from around the world. In 2025, the 33rd Annual Conference was held at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, with the theme “Social Justice Through Solidarity: Cultivating Solidarity within Feminist Economics,” and for the first time ever, IAFFE also hosted a remote conference one week prior, featuring over 25 interactive sessions and more than 80 presenters. This built on the momentum from IAFFE’s largest-ever gathering in Rome in 2024, which welcomed over 800 participants from 85 countries, and looks ahead to the 34th Annual Conference in Cali, Colombia, from July 9–11, 2026. 

IAFFE’s Annual Conferences are thoughtfully crafted to offer an inclusive platform where ideas flow freely, and research pertaining to feminist perspectives on economic matters finds its voice and audience. They are as important for their thought-provoking plenary sessions, academic paper presentations and workshops, as for the many opportunities they offer for meeting others working in similar areas, for strategizing and for socializing. Each year’s Annual Conference venue also hosts other IAFFE events and activities during the week of the Conference, most notably the Feminist Economics School, a pre-Conference and Mentoring Workshop, IAFFE Board meetings and Feminist Economics Journal Editorial Board meetings. Several IAFFE Committees collaborate to organize the Annual Conference and related events and activities.  Any IAFFE member may join a Committee. IAFFE’s 2025 Annual Conference will take place at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. As with previous conferences, the event will offer thought-provoking plenary sessions, academic paper presentations, and ample opportunities for networking.
